Lecture


I met Dai Vernon in 1968. I spent the summer of 1968 at the Magic Castle in Los Angeles California. And of course had a spectacular time learning magic tricks and studying Magic history and meeting famous Magicians. In 1976 Vernon called, explained he wanted to lecture here at EMS...
Without thinking I said yes sir. His fee 1000$. He called this his fairwell your. Magicians attended from all over the upper Midwest. It turned into a small convention.  We've hosted many lectures, this is one of the most memorable.

These difficult times for so many people

Hello, and welcome to Eagle Magic Store. The recent past has allowed me to rummage through boxes of old magic tricks and ephemera of all kinds ( should not keep half of it). I'm filling 3 ring binders..8x10s, letters, brochures, post cards, instructions, pretty much everything. Very challenging being a librarian. I'm finding some boxes of books, many boxes of magazines, they'll end up being stored and not displayed., Out of room on the shelves. I put a note on the front door.. Says KNOCK. Not much knocking lately., Has worked ok. I've been going in most days, getting easily distracted, repairing, cleaning, matching up missing parts.. Thinking, I've not seen this for 30years. So the future continues to be unknown, but we "weilders" of the wand have an advantage over others. The (hands on) interest of magic tricks and the study of the history of Magic & Magicians.
